She sits at the edge of the world, moonlit and contemplative. Mermomi perches against a soft lavender sky, her tail a swirl of greens, golds, and blues cascading below her as she gazes toward a pale full moon. Her name says it all — momi means pearl in Hawaiian — and like a pearl she is formed from stillness, patience, and quiet beauty. There is an introspection to this piece that sets it apart from the rest of Scott's mermaid collection — a figure not swimming but simply existing, peaceful and unhurried, in a moment entirely her own.
